The People’s Porch

Lay yours down.

About this porch

No comments. Just witness.

There are no comments on this porch. No replies, no arguments, no strangers preaching at you or picking your story apart.

If somebody’s testimony moves you, you light a candle for it. That’s your amen — one flame, one witness. Nothing more is asked of you, and nothing more is allowed.

The Keeper reads every story before it touches this wall. Nothing goes up without his word.

At every full moon, Granny counts the candles — but she don’t choose by the count alone.

“I count the candles, child, but I listen to the heart.”

Next candle count: the next full moon.

A first night on the porch — lanterns lit beneath the trees

A first night on the porch. Every wall starts with one story.

When the candles gather, the elders take notice. Granny chooses by the heart of the story — then she calls the others.
